Prof. Dipl.-Ing. Thomas Schlipköther is a graduated engineer in constructive civil engineering (university Essen), and worked after his studies at the university Essen for various construction companies.

He joined duisport in 2001 as Member of the Executive Board, where he is responsible for engineering and operations. In appreciation of his special contributions as a lecturer at the Faculty of Engineering in the areas of ship technology and logistics, he was awarded an honorary professorship at the University of Duisburg-Essen in 2013.
