As in the previous year, the Port of Duisburg once again ranks in 36th place among the world's largest ports. That is the result of the ranking just published by the international magazine “Container Management”. Last year, duisport handled 4.1 million standard containers (TEU).
This means that duisport is the only inland port in the Top 100 group, and one of three German ports. The two sea ports Hamburg (18th place) and Bremerhaven (27th place) each dropped one rank compared to the previous year.
Compared to the rest of Europe, duisport is still ahead of the Italian and French ports. The ranking demonstrates that duisport, as Europe's main logistics hub in the hinterland, has maintained stable growth compared to the global competition,” says duisport Chief Executive Officer Erich Staake.
