The aim of logport ruhr is to provide areas for companies in the value-added logistics segment, as well as trading and production companies with increased space and logistics requirements.Current examples are the former coal storage location in Kamp-Lintfort (logport IV) and Oberhausen (logport V), where more than 50 hectare new logistic center are available.
Example logport IV in Kamp-Lintfort:
The new logistics center logport IV will be created on an area of 30 hectares on the former coal storage area in Kamp-Lintfort, after mining utilization of the area has been ceased. The involved “wir4” municipalities Kamp-Lintfort, Moers, Neukirchen-Vluyn, and Rheinberg will merge parts of their municipal commercial areas for this purpose.
The location in the Norddeutschlandstraße offers a decisive advantage due to its bimodal development. It offers a rail siding in addition to the direct exit from the Autobahn feeder B 528, which is still being built through logport ruhr. This creates a direct connection with the Port of Duisburg logistics turntable, and an ideal link to the international transportation network. "The link with the duisport logistics hub connects logport IV to international markets. This will not only increase the attractiveness of the logistics areas, but also make an important contribution to strengthening the Rhine-Ruhr industrial and logistic location," says Erich Staake, Chief Executive Officer of Duisburger Hafen AG. "Our aim in particular is to use logport IV to meet the considerable demand from international companies with extensive logistics requirements. Therefore the rapid and sustainable development of this logistics location is very important to the regional interest," adds Prof. Dr. Hans-Peter Noll, Chairman of the Board of RAG Montan Immobilien.
